TrueCaller’s mission is to give the user as much information as possible about the people he/she is communicating with. This is done by giving the user information about the people who they don’t know, such as a unknown number calling them, or by giving the user information about his/her friends. By combining the following two functionalities TrueCaller aims to reach it’s mission:

By making a reverse number lookup to the TrueCaller server whenever the user receives a call from an unknown number, TrueCaller is able to present the user with Name/Address and in some cases even a picture of the caller. In addition if the caller is a notorious spam caller such as a sales company, TrueCaller will inform the user so that the user can decide whether they want to answer the phone or not.

When the user receives a call from a friend or colleague as detected on Facebook or Linkedin, the user will see that persons latest status update and profile picture.

Dont phone connections come with a caller identification service?That is only partially true, because you will know who is calling you if you have saved that persons number in your phonebook, however if you don’t have that phonenumber saved in your phonebook you will never know who is calling you until you answer the phone.
