Noida-based Liqvid helps businesses to develop online learning courses, plans to enter consumer space

Digital education in India has been gaining ground with the increasing usage of Internet in learning process. Currently, online education market size pegs around $20 billion and it is set to reach $40 billion by 2017. To capitalize the potential of e-learning, next generation entrepreneurs have been launching their venture in both B2B and B2C verticals. One such startup is Noida-based Liqvid, which started with objective to make learning process more effective, leveraging cutting-edge technology.Liqvid started as a custom e-learning solutions company and later expanded to offer English learning software to customers around the globe. Speaking to Yourstory about idea behind the venture, Vivek Agarwal said “The philosophy behind Liqvid is to develop learning solutions which take the 'shape' of the learner in the same way the liquid takes the shape of the container in which it is poured”.

Founded by Pankaj Manchanda, Manish Upadhyay and Vivek Agarwal, Liqvid raised $3 million in August 2012. It offers web-based training, computer-based training, including instructor-led training, spanning across domains such as BFSI, automotive, telecom, electronics, healthcare and others. So far, the company has been dealing only with the B2B space; now, it is planning to evangelize consumer space.

At present, with a 150-member team, Liqvid has clientele including HP, Philips, Standard Chartered Bank, IIT Delhi, Cairn Energy, British Council and Educomp. Recently, it had partnered with HP to provide its English-learning solutions on the HP Lab as well as helping to promote HP Life to its customer base.

Outlining the vision of the company Agarwal said “Liqvid is focussed on providing scalable education by leveraging technology - which means high-quality learning available to learners at a price they can afford and a place and time of their choosing.” Liqvid aims to reach several million learners over the next few areas, particularly in the areas of English learning, by leveraging the range of technologies including mobile and the Internet.
