whatfix: Create, share or use interactive How-To's for any website

Monday August 05, 2013 , 2 min Read

Quicko Labs is a Bangalore based startup which was founded by Khadim Batti and Vara Kumar Namburu in 2011 and their first product was SearchEnabler. In a new development, the company has launched their second product which is out for public beta now- whatfix.

whatfix

whatfix makes it possible to get instructions right inside a website or a web application where the user is looking for help. "A community-based model, whatfix lets anyone create, share or use interactive How-To's for any website," says Khadim. whatfix was conceptualized based on the pain area the founders felt while working with users of SearchEnabler.

As a step towards making the web more interactive, the public beta version of whatfix has two major updates:

1) Earlier, whatfix only supported Chrome but is now works for Mozilla as well.

2) Extension free run: Intially, all those who wanted to see these flows, had to have the plugin. Now, anyone can view and share the interactive flows.

The co-founders used to work for Huwaei Telecom before Quicko Labs and have more than 10 years of experience in building teams and products in the ever-dynamic field of Business Intelligence.

whatfix is a useful tool and has many other ways of growing if it grabs initial attention (see how SlideShare was built). The product at first glance gives a feel that it is meant for the more technologically-bent people but if it is simplified and taken to the masses, whatfix has the potential to create a bigger impact.
