There is so much that Karnataka can offer industries and innovators, says Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah at ‘Invest Karnataka 2016’

Focussed on bringing global investors on a single platform and to showcase what Karnataka can offer, many industrialists, country ambassadors, and delegates remain bullish on what the state has to offer.

Speaking on how the state has been a hotbed of innovation, Siddaramaiah said at Invest Karnataka 2016 that the state is poised to become the future of the country.

Speaking about startups and entrepreneurs in the state and specifically in Bengaluru, Siddaramaiah added that the city has ensured that entrepreneurship thrives.

He added that the startups in the city are in fact setting an example for every other city and state. "There is complete support from the government to ensure that there is complete ease of doing business," added Siddaramaiah.

The state, he said, has always believed in keeping an open policy for helping businesses flourish and develop.

For all the feedback and talk on need for increased infrastructure and reduction of traffic congestion in the city of Bengaluru, Siddaramaiah added that the state is working closely with the centre to look at different solutions for the traffic congestion problem.

Ananth Kumar, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, had earlier in the day promised a 13 lakh metric tonne fertiliser plant in the state.

Karnataka has seen unprecedented growth. However, the focus has primarily been on the IT sector and on Bengaluru. However, cities like Mangaluru, Hubli, Udupi, Belgaum, Mysuru, and other smaller cities are also showing great promise. With the Invest Karnataka initiative, there is now going to be a stronger focus on manufacturing and agricultural industry.

At the end of day one of ‘Invest Karnataka 2016’, there was a sense of positivity. Many hoped that the state would solve the traffic congestion problem in Bengaluru immediately and work on infrastructural development in the city and rest of Karnataka.
