Get a unique online identity and take your startup places with the Startup League

Get a unique online identity and take your startup places with the Startup League

Wednesday September 28, 2016 , 3 min Read

This announcement is sponsored by the Startup League

Tech events and conferences can be a great platform for early stage startups to meet successful entrepreneurs, investors, clients, and mentors and make meaningful industry connections that can give their business a head start. But the costs involved – from registration, travel, accommodation and marketing collaterals – can be prohibitive. The Startup League was designed to give fledgling startups a fillip without taking a toll on their resources.

Incubated by Radix, a global domain name registry, the Startup League is an innovative programme to assist early-stage startups with marketing support and sponsorship so they can leverage leading global tech events and conferences and increase their visibility. Startups that have been using one of Radix’s eight top level domains are eligible to apply for the programme.

Members receive at least a 25 percent sponsorship when exhibiting at leading tech events across the globe such as TechCrunch Disrupt, Web Summit, SXSW, CES, Launch fest and Collision, as well as geography-specific ones such as Slush. In fact, two startups attending TechCrunch Disrupt already received event support from The Startup League. Currently, the Startup League is sponsoring 30% of a Startup’s exhibitor fees when they attend Web Summit, Lisbon. If you are an Indian Startup attending Web Summit, click here to apply for the sponsorship!Startups also get support in the form of PR and brand promotion on relevant online media platforms and branded merchandise such as t-shirts, stationery and other giveaways. Startup League members also get exclusive access to high-value premium domain names from Radix’s registry, enabling them to expand their existing portfolios or float new businesses.

Launched in late August, the programme is gaining traction quickly and has onboarded multiple businesses from across the globe. Examples include Devteam.space, a software development outsourcing service; Dronegohome.tech, a drone management system offering defence and containment solutions and many more.

The programme has also tied up with startup enablers, accelerators and incubators such as The Founder Institute and Founders Space. Their partners also include co-working spaces such as The Collective 1212, who offer their members access to the benefits of the Startup League programme.

The force behind the Startup League, Radix helps early-stage startups for whom registering a .com domain name of their choice is an expensive and complicated exercise. In 2014, with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) authorising many new Top Level Domain Names (TLDs), the stage was set for an expanded, diversified Internet namespace. Businesses today can choose from among 150 unique top level domains such as .camera, .gallery, .equipment, .beauty, . baby, and .press. By 2017, there are expected to be as many as 1,000 new top level domains.

Radix offers eight unique extensions including .ONLINE, .TECH, .STORE, and .SPACE. Startups can use these to get a creatively-named site that clearly reflects the nature of their business and gives them a unique online identity with high brand recall and better search rankings.

The Startup League is accepting applications from promising startups, sign up today for exclusive privileges.
