4 jobs most entrepreneurs don’t think of outsourcing

4 jobs most entrepreneurs don’t think of outsourcing

Wednesday February 15, 2017 , 3 min Read

For an entrepreneur, his business is his baby. Handing over control of even the smallest of tasks to other team members seems unnecessary to them. This isn't because they don't trust others to do a good job, but it is mostly because they feel they'll always do a better and more refined job than the opposite person. For this reason, they prefer to build an in-house team of experts who they can monitor and be in constant touch with. While big companies can afford to hire the best talent, a startup can't think of shelling out huge salaries at least in the initial few years of its establishment. It is for this reason that entrepreneurs owning a startup business should consider outsourcing.

Here are a few jobs that entrepreneurs should outsource in order to take their business to new heights of success:

Payroll

Payroll is so much more than calculating the number of hours your employees have clocked in and monitoring how many days of leave an employee has taken. Several regulations, requirements, and tax laws have to be taken into consideration while processing your company's payroll. Even a tiny mistake can trigger tax audits and cause your company a huge setback. It is therefore best to outsource this job to a reliable service and focus on running your business.

Digital advertising

As an entrepreneur, you don't want to get stuck in the never-ending web of social media. It might just seem like a post or two on Facebook and Instagram, but social media marketing is so much more than that. It involves being seen by your target audience on the right platforms, putting up useful yet engaging content that your users will want to consume, and interacting with existing and potential customers. Instead of focusing all your energy on deciphering social media, it is best to outsource the job to an expert or an agency that will help build awareness for your brand on digital media.

Content writing

Your website is a window through which the world peeks in to get a better view of your brand. It is therefore important that the content on your website be a clear representation of what your brand stands for. If you're not the best writer out there, outsource the job to a freelance content creator who will follow SEO rules to make sure your website shows up at the top on search engines like Google.

Human Resources

As your startup expands, there will also be an increase in the Human Resources responsibilities. The duties will include writing employee training manuals, maintaining spreadsheets, performing background checks of employees, scheduling job interviews, scouting for new talent, arranging meetings, and so much more. The sheer amount of administrative work will drain you if you do it all by yourself and will put a strain on your resources if you hire an in-house team for the same. It is therefore best to outsource this job to an HR agency that will be happy to help.

For a company that is still finding its footing, outsourcing is a better and more reliable solution. Hiring and maintaining the overheads of an in-house team can get more expensive than when the same job is outsourced to an individual or an agency.
