Tuesday July 24, 2018 , 4 min Read

Use your time well on the internet with these money making apps.

It is 2018, and there is an app for everything. You can access your bank accounts, transfer funds, record your income and expenses, track investments, make peer-to-peer payments and much more.

Indians are spending more and more time on their smartphones – the current average is 3 hours a day – so what if you could use this time and make some money instead of scrolling endlessly on Instagram and catching up on hundreds of messages and forwards on WhatsApp.

There are some apps that help you make money and without doing much. That’s right – it is now possible to make a side income on apps.

The list is long but here are some apps that can boost your income –

Yumchek

A food tech app that aims to benefit the entire F&B ecosystem, Yumcheck says it “makes each meal count”. Founded by law graduate Piyush Gupta, this Gurgaon based startup’s app gives users reward points for eating out. Although these reward points can’t be converted to cash, they do let users earn cashback on grocery purchase or win prizes through Yumcheck Lotto. Apart from this, Yumcheck uses a learning algorithm and doubles up as a restaurant discovery and recommendation platform for users. Users can also upload their receipts on Yumcheck to generate a meal ticket for the underprivileged. For this, the app has partnered with two NGOs – Akshaya Patra and Feeding India. It’s a free app available on iOS and Android and can add money to a linked Paytm account.

Zupee

If you love your trivia and grew up on a healthy dose of quiz shows on TV, Zupee is a great app for you. Simply put, Zupee conducts daily quizzes where users can win between Rs 500 to Rs 5000 per tournament. Apart from that, users can also earn sign up bonus and rewards for referrals. The app is available on Google Play.

Loco

Also a quiz based app, Loco was recently acquired by digital media company Pocket Aces. Available on Google Play, it conducts quizzes in real time and participants can win cash prizes by answering all questions correctly. Interestingly, Loco’s quizzes look and feel much like the ones on TV, hosted by actor and TV host Gaurav Kapur.

Other trivia apps are BrainBaazi and Qureka.

Tez

Tez, Google’s UPI-based payment app for the Indian market, offers several ways to earn money. For one, every sign up comes with a bonus of Rs 51. There are additional cash prizes every time a user transfers funds, makes a transaction, or invites friends to the Tez platform.

CashKaro, Paytm and other are also apps through which people can earn cash back.

mCent Browser

Technically not an app, the mCent browser for smartphones lets users earn money to do all the normal things they usually do on their smartphones, such as browsing social media, reading news, shopping or searching online. While there is no direct cash involved, users can redeem the points they earn on the app to purchase phone recharge packs or pay postpaid bills as well as to avail discounts from various telecom service providers.

YesMobo

YesMobo.com is a cost-per-click marketing platform where users can make money simply by sharing ads with their friends and family on WhatsApp. YesMobo capitalises on WhatsApp’s popularity among Indian users. Since the messaging app doesn’t allow any advertising on its platform, YesMobo enables peer-to-peer WhatsApp advertising through its app.

Other apps to look out for are Squad, and Dream 11.

The above apps provide heavy internet users a clever way to earn some money in the hours they spend browsing. Which of these have you used so far? Which one do you like the most?
