Welcome back to a new Monday!

Welcome back to a new Monday!

Monday October 22, 2018 , 3 min Read

Some of us are raring to go, others are missing the super-long-weekend that just flew past and find that suddenly. there are urgent things to take care of. Here's something for you.

"In an age of speed, I began to think, nothing could be more invigorating than going slow. In an age of distraction, nothing can feel more luxurious than paying attention. And in an age of constant movement, nothing is more urgent than sitting still or letting my mind relax- that I find that the thoughts that come to me unbidden are far fresher and more imaginative than the ones I consciously seek out."

That's probably not what you expect to hear on a Monday morning, but this is what has been working for me. I hope that you were able to relax these past few days without feeling guilty about it (because, let's face it, we do feel guilty about switching off).

Those lines I've quoted are from a book by Pico Iyer, 'The Art of Stillness'. It is a remarkable read without being preachy. He should know - he and his family live in a modest home in the countryside near Kyoto-without internet, television, mobile phones, or even cars.

As he says, “Going nowhere, as Leonard Cohen would later emphasize for me, isn’t about turning your back on the world; it’s about stepping away now and then so that you can see the world more clearly and love it more deeply.”

So if you didn't get a chance to do nothing over the last few days, then remember that Diwali is just around the corner. Until then, here's a collection of our inspiring startup stories from the past week.

Cheers!
