Saina Nehwal loses to World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying in Denmark Open

India's ace badminton champion, Saina Nehwal lost to World No. 1 Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei in the final of the Denmark Open on Sunday.

Saina lost 13-21, 21-13, 6-21 to Tai Tzu Ying in a match that lasted for 52 minutes. Inspite of a thundering comeback in the second half, the 28-year-old lost the game, for the eleventh consecutive time in a row to Tai Tzu Ying.

Saina had defeated Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia in the semi-final on Saturday by 21-11, 21-12 to enter the final of the women's singles event.

Sunday's nail-biting game saw social media in complete support of Sania. The first half of the game saw the Chinese player winning the quarter, said the Indian Express.

Tai Tzu, has an overwhelming 12-5 career head-to-head record against Saina.

Sania last defeated Tai Tzu in 2013, with the Chinese Taipei shuttler victorious in the last 10 matches, said The Quint.
