While Microsoft has roped in the cream of the tech campus at IIT Roorkee making 31 offers, Intel and EXL have turned out to be the top recruiters at IIT Kharagpur with 29 and 35 offers each.

With final placements in full swing at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), the elite tech campuses are reporting a surge in the number of international job offers this year. In just three days since the beginning of the session, over 1,500 job offers have already poured in, with Microsoft turning out to be the top recruiter, both in terms of the number of job offers and the package.

The US-based tech giant is said to have placed the highest offer of the season, taking the international package to a whopping Rs 1.5 crore per annum for the IIT graduates, reports Business Today.

Following close behind with global job roles is Uber, which is also reported to have offered a package of over Rs 1 crore. Other companies include Rubrik, Optiver, Singapore-based Dynamic Technology and Micron Semiconductor Asia, and Japanese companies like Works Applications, Mercari and SMS Data Tech.

Intel, EXL, Oyo Rooms and General Electric (GE) have been the top recruiters at the IITs so far. Intel alone has hired 29 candidates at IIT Kharagpur, while EXL’s total offers stands at 35. However, Microsoft roped in the cream of the tech campus at IIT Roorkee, making 31 offers that also includes international postings.

As far as hiring at IIT Delhi and Bombay campus is concerned, students have bagged close to 500 jobs from both the campuses. And this does not include the pre-placement offers (PPOs) that have been given out mostly on the basis of performance during the summer internships.

International job offers for the final placement season have also doubled at IIT Guwahati and Kanpur, as per reports. While the average salary packages from various recruiters range between Rs 13-15 lakh, the highest domestic package this year is pegged at Rs 47 lakh.

“In the last one and a half days, we have received 310 confirmed jobs. The response is really good,” said Syam Nair, head of placement at IIT Kanpur.
