Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae is the last Italian V12 artwork, priced at Rs 8 Cr (ex-show)
Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae is the last of its kind to be powered by a pure naturally aspirated V12 engine, and will be succeeded by hybrids in the future.
Lamborghini has become so synonymous with fast cars, rap songs just use ‘Lambo’ or ‘Ghini’ to refer to speed. The Italian brand has a wide range of supercars on offer to meet the bottomless demand of super-rich speed enthusiasts around the world.
The carmaker’s most famed lineup is the Aventador range which has seen a fair share of models. The latest addition to the Aventador armoury is Aventador Ultimae which made its global debut earlier this year.
The Aventador Ultimae is the swansong of the pure petrol V12 engine that has powered the Lamborghini models for years since future models are going to be hybrids. Globally limited to only 600 units, Aventador Ultimae is available in two derivatives—Coupe and Roadster.
While 350 units of the coupe sports car will be produced worldwide, only 250 units of its roadster sibling will be built. Interestingly, all 600 units of the supercar have sold out. Lamborghini India recently delivered the second Aventador Ultimae Coupe and the third overall Ultimae Edition in the country.
Being a CBU (completely built-up) model, the hypercar comes with a deep hole in the owner’s pocket, with an on-road price of around Rs 19-20 crore (approx). The first unit of the Ultimae Coupe was introduced in India earlier in July this year.
Elegant design
Officially christened as Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae, the coupe edition is slotted between the performance-spec Aventador SVJ and the elegant Aventador S, thus bringing the best of both worlds. The latest unit delivered to a customer in Bengaluru is the first in this range to be wrapped around in Rosso Efesto Red colour scheme, with Bronzo Oreadi as the choice for exterior livery.

Hand crafted by artisans in Italy, the full livery on Ultimae Coupe includes a 360-degree livery on front bumper details, front splitter contour, mirror housing, rocker cover, rear bumper and omega in black with body colour pinstripe, rear diffuser in carbon matching the body finishing with a pinstripe in contrast colour. The carbon fibre treatment has been extended to the front bumper and side skirts as well.
The use of carbon fibre has helped Lamborghini lose 25 kilos over the Aventador S. In fact, the entire structure is a perfect blend of carbon fibre and aluminium making the car extremely nimble. The monocoque is made from carbon fibre while the front and rear frames utilise aluminium.
Other visual highlights including the optional C-pillar intakes, engine details, fixed air intake and front bonnet air outlets also receive a carbon fibre. Overall, the exterior design is in line with the rest of the Aventador series barring a few minute changes including new front and rear bumpers. Another distinct highlight is the use of Leirion Forged 20/21-inch lightweight alloy wheels finished in bronze matt.
Sporty interiors
The cabin of the Aventador Ultimae remains almost identical to Aventador S but the former gets a specific plaque denoting the edition number. It also wears high-grade, Laser-engraved Alcantara upholstery on seats and door trims. Seat belts and the stitching matches the exterior paint scheme while door handles, seat backs and cluster hood are finished in carbon fibre.
The Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae is loaded with conveniences like a customisable TFT digital instrumentation, a touchscreen infotainment display integrated with Apple CarPlay and in-car connectivity with voice-activated commands. It boasts a superior Lamborghini Sensonum sound system that consists of two woofers mounted on the doors, two tweeters mounted on the dashboard, and a DSP-based class D amplifier.
Unmatched performance
Powering Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae is the revered 6.5-litre V12 naturally aspirated petrol motor that dishes out 770 bhp at 8,500rpm and 720 Nm of peak torque at 6,750rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Speaking of performance, the sports car is capable of sprinting from zero to 100 km/hr in mere 2.8 seconds while zero to 200 km/hr can be achieved in 8.7 seconds. It can reach speeds of up to 355 km/hr.
The driving experience is aided thanks to an active suspension setup that updates the dynamics of the car according to driving patterns and surfaces. Lamborghini says that four-wheel steering comes in handy for the large car while manoeuvring through tight corners.
