Videos are the future and who knows it better than Facebook. They are trying hard to become the leader & are competing with Youtube. They are trying hard to get user contributed videos.

Facebook took a step ahead and is now allowing Business Pages to post video as Cover Picture (check the pop-up message in the picture). This was earlier limited to posting pictures only. But now you can post short videos from 20-90 seconds & should be at least 820 X 312 pixels. Facebook is allowing businesses to do more with this feature. Now Businesses can use Videos to catch user attention.

What are the benefits of using Video as Facebook Cover Picture:-

1. Catchy

Everyone Knows that video is the most engaging form of content and even better than Image. So putting Video instead of picture as Cover Picture would definitely help catch users attention.

2. Higher User Engagement

Videos as we know gets more engagement as they catch users attention and keep them on your real estate whether it's your website, Facebook Page or any other platform. Video will always gets higher engagement than any other kind of content.

3. More Time to Convince Users

As Videos help earn user attention you have more time and better chances to convince a user about the service/product you want to pitch.

4. More Inquiry/Conversion

More engagement ultimately leads to more inquiry and hence higher conversion. This will ultimately help you generate more revenues if used right.

5. Product/Service Showcase

This feature to add Video as Facebook Cover Picture would provide an added place to showcase your Products/Service you offer.

This is surely a great move by Facebook and would also help Businesses. Also it would help Facebook a bit in competing with Youtube as it has been trying.

Also this is an interesting move looking to the fact that Facebook is planning to allow the Video Publishers monetize their videos. So this may be a part of their strategy and they may put ads in between these videos used as Cover pic on Business Page. This will work as an added revenue source for them.

What do you think about this move by Facebook?
