'Out of box thinking needed to push MSME sector in India,' Gayatri Vasudevan, LabourNet

'Out of box thinking needed to push MSME sector in India,' Gayatri Vasudevan, LabourNet

Tuesday December 11, 2018 , 1 min Read

In a chat with SMBStory, Gayatri Vasudevan, CEO of Labournet, talks about the MSME sector in India and how we can learn from other countries, especially China to boost the micro, small and medium enterprises.

LabourNet is a social enterprise that enables livelihoods by focusing on ‘real income increase’ for the informal sector workers. It provides vocational education & training services and ‘decent work’ opportunities to the above segment. LabourNet is a platform which facilitates financial inclusion and social security measures to workers.

It has created 135 certification courses for 28 industries, including construction, apparel, leather, rubber, beauty, and automobiles. It also runs a placement service for job seekers at MSMEs.

Vasudevan says her goal is to become a Rs 1,000-crore revenue company and touch at least 10 million people by 2022.
